Sam Ed Gibson

Sam Ed Gibson began his legal career as an Assistant Arkansas Attorney General under Joe Purcell.  Since 1972, Mr. Gibson has conducted a general civil law practice with emphasis on small business, real estate, family and local government issues in Benton, Arkansas.  He is the general counsel for the Saline County Regional Solid Waste Management District, and has recently completed 15 years as the elected City Attorney for the City of Benton, Arkansas.  He was elected Municipal Judge for Benton and Saline County in 1978 and served two four-year terms in that office.  He has served numerous times as a Special Judge in Saline County Circuit Court, and three times as a Special Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court.  He is a past member and Chairman of the Arkansas Supreme Court Committee on Professional Conduct.

 

In addition to his legal career, Mr. Gibson recently retired from 35 years of  service with the United States Army Reserve (USAR) at the rank of Brigadier General.  During the course of his military career, he commanded the 431st Civil Affairs Company, North Little Rock, Arkansas, and led that company in its  deployment to Kuait and Iraq during the first Gulf War.  He later commanded the 321st Civil Affairs Brigade headquartered at San Antonio, Texas, before being chosen to command the 353rd Civil Affairs Command, headquartered in Bronx, New York.  During an extended deployment to Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1998, General Gibson served as the Commanding General, Combined Joint Civil Military Task force, for Operation Joint Guard, the United States led coalition Stabilization Force, where he commanded an international task force from seventeen allied nations.  He has received numerous military awards and decorations including the Defense Superior Service Medal, two awards of the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star medal and the Meritorious Service Medal.

 


Mr. Gibson is a graduate of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville where he earned his Bachelor of Arts (1968) and his J.D. (1970).  He is licensed to practice before the Arkansas Supreme Court, the United States District Courts in Arkansas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eight Circuit.  He is a Sustaining Member and Foundation Fellow of the Arkansas Bar Association where he also serves as Chairman of the Lawyers Assisting Military Personnel (LAMP) Committee.  He is a past-President of the Saline County Bar Association. 

 

          Pamela B. Gibson

Pamela B. Gibson pursues a general law practice with emphasis on Family Law, Health Law, Probate, and Real Estate.

 

Before entering private practice Ms. Gibson served as an Associate General Counsel with the University of Arkansas system where she had extensive experience dealing with medical-legal issues for the UAMS teaching hospital including working with patient advance directives, living wills and consent-to-treatment cases. She also conducted numerous training sessions for health care professionals in medical-legal issues, record keeping and related subjects. 

 

She is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where she earned her Bachelor of Arts (1972, majoring in Political Science) and Masters in Public Administration (1976).  From 1976 to 1979, Ms. Gibson held various positions with the State of Arkansas and the University of Arkansas where she was engaged in providing training and technical assistance to cities, counties, and the various divisions and campuses of the University of Arkansas.  Ms. Gibson has extensive experience as a member of the lobbying team for the University of Arkansas.  While earning her J.D., with honors, from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law in 1989, Ms. Gibson served as the Editor-in-Chief of the UALR Law Journal.

 

Ms. Gibson is licensed to practice before the Arkansas Supreme Court, the United States District Courts in Arkansas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eight Circuit.  She is a Sustaining Member and Foundation Fellow of the Arkansas Bar Association where she also serves as Secretary of the Health Law Section, member of the Family Law Section and the Technology Committee.  She is past-President of the Saline County Bar Association, and a current member of the American Bar Association.  She is active in community and civic affairs and is currently serving as a member of the Planning Commission for the City of Benton, Arkansas, and as an Assistant District Governor for Rotary International District 6170.
